Pet Portraits

Lauren's love for creating pet portraits began with her own animals.

"When I was a kid, I knew I wanted to either be an art teacher or a veterinarian—so it seems I’ve combined those two passions into one. In middle and high school, I created works of my pets and that transferred into my adult life. Animal rescue is incredibly important to our family; and the first pet portraits I created were of our own dogs. When my husband and I were dating, we got our first bulldog together and over the next few years, we adopted three additional bulldog / bully-mixes and a cat. Three of those + our current cat were adopted from the Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. Our current bulldogs are the sweetest little ladies, Ava & Agnes. Ava was adopted from Opie's Special Needs English Bulldog Rescue and Agnes was adopted from Georgia English Bulldog Rescue. Our “original crew” brought us so much joy [and heartache] that we have showcased their portraits in our home to always keep them close by– our oldest son’s room is decorated with images of them, as well as our boys’ bathroom. They are still very much a part of us."
